Default Direction of cutout?

This isn't on an LS1, but this forum covers exhaust. I recently had a Summit 3" cutout installed, but it's pretty much horizontal and faces one of the underside panels. Is that why is sounds like ****? Should I have it aimed down towards the ground for better sound?

yeah. it may be shooting the exhaust on the floor of your car causing it to sound weird, muffled. i dont have one so i could be wrong. someone here with an lt1 and a cutout will chime in im sure.

Depending on the brand/shape of the cutout you can run some pipes out a little and dump it. It might be able to salvage the placement of yours.

That is the world of a Cut Out. They dont sound great at cruising speeds or while on load. But, they sound amazing on idle and WOT (mostly)
