Default '98 Z Header Install

After I installed my headers and ORY I have the Service engine light for the 2 O2 sensors and Misfire on Cylinder #4. I went to a "High Performance" shop to get it tuned and the guy said I should put cats back on it and the egr tube so he can tune it...My question is can't you get it tuned without the cat O2 sensors?? And he told me I could get pulled over and get fined $1500 per cat. Is this true?

my car was tuned with no cats, no rear O2 sensors, and no egr. not sure what this guys deal is. you may want to do some shoppin around for another tuner. where are you located, might be some sponsors that could take care of ya.

It is true you can get fined. Odds are you wont. I would find another tuner as he isn't too knowledgeable as far as what needs to be on the car to tune it....

Cliffnotes he is saying he wont work on a car that is not street legal, if he services your car and it does not have catalytic converters etc.. he can face heavy fines. So basically you have to find someone that will tune your car with all your "Off Road" modifications.

Sounds like he's just covering his ***. Not sure why he wouldn't just tell you that in the first place though.
