Default exhuast pipe vibration dampening

OK, so when my exhaust was put on apparently it wasnt the most professional install, the pipe touches the driverside floorpan and rattles like hell against it sometimes at low RPM.

I think I want to just pry the pipe down a little bit and try to slip some type of insulator between it and the floorpan, but i dont know if there is a specific material I should be using, seeing as how it gets hot down there. Is there something in particular i should use?

just dont want to set anything on fire...

Probably have to pick it up at a race shop. Though, you can order it from summit or one of our sponsors I'm sure. Pack it in there tight and say buh bye to the banging.

You could also try some radiator hose...I stuck a piece in that exact spot when my y-pipe was banging under the driver's side and it held up ok.

Definately don't use cooling system hose. Buy some 5/8" or 3/4" emissions hose (EGR hose) and wedge it between the y-pipe and floorpan. Use a hose clamp through the hose to hold it the exhaust pipe.

Yeah...EGR hose makes more sense as radiator hose might melt...it's been a while since I did that "mod".

I love having a dad that works for a nuclear powerplant...he got me this welding shield they use to cover up sensitive equipment when they make repairs. It looks like a blanket, but resists heat up to 2000 degrees, plus its silver. I just wrapped the pipe 6-7 times and secured with metal locking straps from DEI. Works awesome and I might use it for turbo wrap on my GN too.
