Default How to keep ARP crank pulley bolts tight?

Is there any secret to keeping this bitch on there? At first it took a while (~2,000 miles) to back off, but now I have to tighten the thing every day or it backs off and tosses the AC belt.

Its on a C5, so its a huge PITA to pull the entire bolt, but I can re-tighten it with an open-end 24mm 12-point and a bigass breaker bar. I put what has to be 200-250 ft-lbs of torque on it (I put the car in 6th, pull the e-brake as far as it will go, and tighten until it starts rolling forward), but it just loosens right up again when the car is driven even remotely hard. I'd crank it down harder, but I'm afraid I'll break the thing off in the crank.

Is the only solution to pull the bolt and bathe the thing in red loctite?

Edit: The pulley is an ASP underdrive, by the way. Now I'm starting to wonder if the bolt could be too long...

I have an ARP bolt with the ASP pulley, and I put some locktite on mine (blue) and never had a problem. If you are hitting the correct torque value, I don't see why it should keep coming out.

What did you torque yours to? I've seen conflicting values posted.

Hey, I could only hit like 240 on my torque wrench (small Asian guy, lol). But yeah, I have heard 250 is what you want. It should hold without loctite, but i was paranoid!

You might want to try a stock bolt, or maybe (even though it isn't recommended but works for me) is to see if you can tighten it up a little more with an air wrench, I don't know if there's room to do that without removing some stuff though.

Yes...because everyone wants a race car with no a/c.

I've not had a problem with my ARP bolt, but I tightened that bitch down to 250 ft-lbs. I have a really BIG torque wrench that I bought for just that purpose...
