New product - VR Velocity stack
New product - VR Velocity stack
This product is now listed on our website -
Fits all GM V6 and V8 Trucks from 1996-2004 and all GM GenIII V8 equipped cars from 1998-2004.
Features:
Designed to produce power and torque throughout the RPM range
Increases throttle response
Increases gas mileage
Increases acceleration
Installs in just minutes!
A patent-pending design!
Eliminates the need for a ported throttle-body by smoothing and reshaping the throttle-body entrance to increase the incoming air velocity at each given RPM
Note: Customers with ported throttle-bodies and or smooth tubes, please call us for a custom made version to fit your application.
In Truck applications VR has seen gains of up to 22+ ft/lbs of tire-shredding torque throughout the power curve where you can use it! As tested in a 2004 Silverado 5.3 V8. In LS1 car applications, gains of up to 13 rear wheel HP have been seen (03 C5 Corvette).
[]
The VR velocity stack was designed to reshape the factory throttle-body in order to boost air flow velocity at each given RPM. The overall shape of each VR velocity stack has undergone some of the most intensive airflow research that we have ever done to produce the best overall shape for each engine's airflow requirements. In order to achieve this we:
Created a balanced air stream between the upper and lower portion of the throttle-body blade = more airflow.
We then changed the shape of the entrance to build up a higher velocity charge at each given RPM. This allows the intake charge force in the manifold to be increased = increased throttle response and added torque and power under the curve where you can use it.
Streamlining the intake was also achieved by directing the air in a controlled fashion to reduce any power robbing turbulence over the AIR and PCV valve to maximize the overall efficiency of the factory throttle-body's overall diameter.
Each velocity stack features a varied plenum volume whether in front of the throttle-body or in overall length to help them boost the primary and secondary pressure waves during the cylinder firing process = a tuned and more balanced induction system giving you much better overall combustion efficiency = more power and better gas mileage.
The part number for this product is - vrstack and the price is $49.99.

guys did you dyno this thing yourselves???
you have a dyno graph???
if this thing really works then i will buy it...
but 13 rwhp???
forgive me but that sounds imposable...
if you have the dyno sheet to prove it please post it

Re: New product - VR Velocity stack
Does it actually fully block of the AIR and PCV ducts? If so, and you have those items still in place, is that potentially harmful to the equipment?

damn this looks interesting. I've seen 12 rwhp with ported TB and tuning, but 13 with just this is impressive. I'd be interested to see this dyno back to back with a ported TB. I may buy one and test it out. $50 ain't bad.

hey pewter99ss definatly keep us updated...
my race season is over for the year so i am going to consintrait on getting faster for next year...
hopefully the mods this winter will include electric water pump, ftra, and light weight k member, dry cell battery, chrome moly sway bars ...if i can slap another 8-10 hp outa this i would be very happy...
that would put my total hp up by 20-25 rwhp and i would be about 100-150 lbs lighter
should make me .3-.5 faster!!! mid 11's here i come

No you don't.
Just some thoughts.......
First. No PCV is not good for the bottom end since anytime you can release pressure from the crankase or cause a vaccum will increase power. That's why you run a dry sump or a vaccum pump. Blocking the PCV is not a good idea.
Second, No IAC hole is not a good idea either.
One more thing. Add on the fact that alot of the flow gains don't just come from epoxing the void in the TB but making the minimum diameter of the TB the same size as the plate. You still have a 70mm hole in front of a 75mm plate with that thing.
As for the BS "technical" information below the pic, I want to know what extensive airflow research implies? A vaccum cleaner doesn't count.
For anyone with a LT1 with the 48mm TB, this thing is on par with that insert for those TB's that makes your 48mm better than a 52 or 58mm.
That's all I'm going to say. I have some more "comments" but I know better.

uuuummmmm sstroker ace who was the no you dont comment pointed at???
me saying mid 11's here i come???
easy how you fling that around...
i HAVE 395rwhp now and electric waterpump and ftra are proven mods... could see 15-20 hp out of them...
you sayen a 410-415 rwhp car cant do mid 11's???
i did not say i WAS doing this mod... i said i was waiting for real dyno proof as to weither it will make hp or not....
i would take there word on the product the same way i would take your word on your product.... namely i wouldn't
i wait to see if the part makes power on the dyno with real ppl....
again i am glad everyone has theorys about the technical soundness of this part but unless you have dynoed one your opinion is as good as mine.... its not...
look i aint tryen to blast ya but thought your post was alittle rude...
i said i want to see real unbiased dyno results.... then we can all deside if it works... i dont wanna eat humble pie if the thing actually turns out to be the real mccoy... but i dont waan feel robbed if it dont work either...

This ,in theory, sounds like a great idea. 'll get one once I see the dyno results. If it raly works, then this will be more popular then Smooth Bellows, or perhaps even a lid. This might be the "first mod" of the future.

If you ask me it's BS, your decreasing the size of the TB entrance to block off two holes, in essence any power that it makes by smoothing out the airflow over those two holes it loses by decreasing the size.

I honestly don't mean to bash a well respected (and deserved) sponsor, but this new mod ranks right up there with the tornado & curb feelers in my book.
Bret- Thanks for biting your tongue. I know whatyou wanted to say even though you didn't say it.
