Default Where to buy coated ARH headers

Anyone know where I can get ARH 1 3/4" headers for a 2000 LS1 with no emission fittings already coated with ball flanges already welded on?

Get them coated yourself.

Jet hot is right in PA. In NJ, I know a powdercoater in Burlington that will do them for 200.

Any reason why you want them coated? Noone has seen any dyno tests that have proven any gain in coating them.

I think Maryland Speed does it. They're a sponsor. I believe you can buy them already coated from them.

I doubt people get coated headers for dyno gains. It's mostly to reduce underhood temps and reduce rust on the mild steel headers.

Some people are **** about everything

I don't think dyno gains are seen because when you dyno a car, you do it with the hood open and fans blasting the engine bay. When you're idling waiting in a staging lane at the track with the hood closed and no airflow cooling the engine, the coating may help by reducing underhood temps (and therefore IAT temps). That's not something you'd see on the dyno because it's a totally different scenario.

You'd have a really hard time proving any gains with that method. The only thing you can do is get an underhood temperature after idling a long time with both coated and uncoated stainless steel headers, then find a way to equate any reduction in IAT temps to horsepower gained. Good luck with that

Jet Hot is a good price too if you already own the headers. I'm probably going to get mine done over the winter to reduce temps.

lower under hood temps, and they look better.

I may be wrong but I was under the impression that stainless disapates heat more then mild steel. I could be wrong but whats 200 bucks when you are modding a car.

I am not sure about dissipating heat but SS does not conduct heat as well (almost a 1/3rd) as mild steel according to this chart I found on the Burns Stainless website. To me if SS is not conducting the heat like mild steel then there is less to dissipate.
