Default Seeing a pattern with Pacesetter LT?

Hey guys. I have been planning on buying a set of Pacesetter LT's and y-pipe combo. But recently I have been seeing a pattern with people who get Pacesetter headers that have problems with noise and banging underneath their cars. I know the answer is getting different motor mounts, but can I just go with a different set of headers and avoid this problem?

I got BBK headers & ORY. Mine banged the floorboard right after the install too. Poly engine mounts took care of it.

putting in motor mounts is something you should do anyway when putting in headers.

My pacesetters never banged. With that said do the mounts at the same time because they are easy to swap out when the exhaust if out so pull the mounts before you install the headers.

The problem isn't the headers or the Y-pipe. They're built on a tight standard to keep them from dragging the road.

The INSTALLER must recognize the potential problem area's and make adjustments necessary. Overpriced SLP headers and Y-pipe will bang as loud as Pace if the INSTALLER errors.

mine dont bang but rusted fairly quickly. They got pretty rusty within 6 months of having them and i dont drive in the winter. I will be replacing them with stainless in the near future. should have went that way the first time. Just a thought

Rusting was a concern to me, until now I thought I'd go the cheap way but I'm sure I'll wan't to end of getting stainless to so I might as well get it now, thanks!

Haven't had any problems on the SS with pacesetter's but when I did the install I did a little bainging on the y-pipe to stop it from hitting the floorboard. But I would go with stainless LT's and be done with it!!!

It's hard to think of a reason not to do poly's when doing headers...

I did poly mounts and mine still bang. Haven't really looked into it yet, but i'm really starting to suspect my tranny mount...

I have never had a problem with my pacesetters banging or making noise. I have more of a problem getting the y pipe to stay in place. It leaks, but I really don't care right now, I am going to get new clamps and realign sometime down the road.
