No its not a bad idea. Its still dual exhaust. The X-H pipes were designed to get better lowend and to tame down loud exhaust. I got rid of my X pipe, and bullets for one chamber mufflers and I love it.

Yep I got flopro single chamber no x-or h. Not needed for all out. It soundes Freaking awsome at WOT. My car felt like it being held back with my other exhaust, 3 inch, headman X junction into dynomax bullets. Now SOTP and the sound of tires screaming for traction tells me it was. Now waiting for my FAST 92/92 to show up. Ported of course.

Well that all depends on your paticular setup. Most people with duals dont need it. Its one of those I got things. Same goes for the X and H pipes. Alot of shops dont kno the proper placement of them, they just find a suitable area and install. You supposed to place them at the hottest area, usually after the duals are installed, you use a wax pencil and draw a line. Where it melts first there you go. But also after the car is tuned. A Y-pipe properly built as in a good merge collector and piping can support around 400hp. Some make more with it-no cutouts either. And you get the best ground clearance. I once did a 4 inch single split into 3 inch out the back into 12inch sweetthunders(2 1/2 core). And kept the upper PHB. But Flo Master dont make the merge collertors anymore I think.

/\nice looking car! What wheels are those?
Also to add to the thread topic I have a friend who is running true duals with no crossover, Ill see if I can get him to post here. His car sounds great! Really makes me want true duals. Best sounding setup I have heard yet.

I have edelbrock stepped headers 3.5 collectors necked down to 3" pipes, straight out the back under the axle, no X or H pipe. Still have cats, and dynomax bullets turned backwards after the axle. Car is very tame under 2500rpm, at WOT sounds mean *** hell. I get quite a few compliments on the cars sound.
Try it, if you dont like it you can always change it.
