Default exhaust leak at collector

I put the SS up on a lift to take a look under her skirt and find the exhaust leak. I figured it would just be from the exhaust somewhere since I just installed the GMMG, but it wasn't. It was from the header where the 4 primaries merge into the collector. I was standing in front of the collector facing the rear of the car and could feel the exhaust on my face. WTF do I do now? Hopefully I don't have to replace the header, because I have a lot better things to do with my time.

I think my QTP's have the same thing. I'm just gonna leave mine because its not going to affect anything. Its already almost out of the headers and the only thing your gonna loose is maybe some backpressure I would think. Seems like it would be a PITA to weld too.

Yeah, but it is annoying as hell. I can't stand the sound of exhaust leaks.
I wish I knew where it was coming from exactly. Also, I really don't want to drop the whole exhaust to take out my headers just to put them back in

What brand headers are they? If heard of some people using some kind of high heat silicone to get to the collector leaks.

Hope you get it fixed! As much as everyone wants us to go with the vendor headers which are supposed to be problem free it makes you wonder.

Your local parts store sells stuff especially for exhaust leaks and I have seen guys use the red hi-temp RTV on them too though I don't know how long that lasted.

red rtv isnt going to do anything for you nor will the copper stuff. dont bother. one reason i dont like the HVMC is because its very hard to weld all the primaries hence the leak. QTP made the HVMC leak famous but they arent wrong when they say thats the nature of the beast. so you will be taking them back out after you find the leak or living w/ it. id contact LPP. he seems like a cool guy to deal w/.
