Default Ls6 cam in a 5.3

I was told and read in a book to put an ls6 cam in my 5.3. Do i need different springs? Wat are the specs on it? and do u recommend this in a stock truck ait just exhaust and CAI

there are 2 LS6 cams, 2001 and 2002+
Yes you need 02+ LS6 springs or LS2 springs

not a good cam for a heavy truck

hey z-man, how much of a difference does it make on a 5.3? power and performance wise?

Wat cam would u recommend for a truck rather than that cam? I dont want an ungodly rough idle. Just something kinda choppy that'll make it run better. And its only got exhuast and a CAI on it now.

The Z06 cam has good vac sig and good idle.

Something like a 214/218 .600/.590 112+2 LSA

The LS6 cam is lacking in bottom end for a heavya$$ truck. I would listen to Pred-Z or get something else torque oriented.

Where is a good place to find tha 214 218 cam? Wat stall and will i have to have a tune? kinda new to injected cars

That is a custom grind, I can give you the specs and a sponsor can grind it for you. Yes you'll need a tune, no stall needed but you can get one if you want.

I'll get one just might be a lil before i can afford it. Im looking for mid to low 14s then prolly a 100 shot to put me into 13s so i can mess wit some the lightnings in town. Have u seen that grind in a truck before? Im buying longtubes first then cam and springs
