Default when to replace lifters?

When doing an LS1 stock rebuild, do most people replace the lifters or reuse the old ones?

I have no idea how many miles mine has.

Thx for any help/advice

Whats up dude. When i built my moter I replaced the lifter and the plastic trays. My original engine has 28k and I bought new ones anyway.

If you are unsure, Definitly replace them. You would be pretty pissed having to take the heads off to replace the lifters right after a rebuild with the engine in the car. I vote for Replace them. Its only like 120 bucks for some ls7 lifters. And just think of the peace of mind you'll have knowing you wont have to pull the heads because you have brand new lifters in there.

Yeah may as well, thanks guys.

I noticed something weird on Summit though. It usually says they'll ship out the same day, but the for the lifter tray it said "Will ship by 10/31." Does that mean they're out of stock or something? Would be awesome to get this by the weekend so I can install my heads.

SDPC is always good. But those trays are pretty cheap so if you need them quick just get them at the stealership.

We have the lifters in stock & on special! Give us a call if you decide you need a set shipped quickly!

The LS7 lifter works really well & is a good upgrade for high mileage engines. For the money, it's a pretty easy thing to swap while everything is apart.

Agree that if in doubt, replace. I installed LS7 lifters and LS2 trays at 34K miles on my last H/C swap. No regrets spending $$ on those items.
