Default 228/228 111 good match with a 3600 high stall?

Whattya guys think?

Current mods are

Pacesetter long tubes, 3" ORY, slowmaster catback, Vig 3600 high stall, shift-kit.

Stock 2.73s are in the car now, but I have 3.42s ready to slap in. I want a cam only setup and the one I like is a 228/228 111. Nothing to radical right?

Fanoam that's a pretty good camshaft. We've installed a lot of 228R camshafts cut on a 111 lobe seperation. We've seen Trevor's bolt on full weight 02 SS go mid 11s with a TSP 228R on a 111.

It definately will require some tuning, but your not terribly far from us, we could set you up with a mail order tune, or get you a dyno tune.

Yes, good match,
I would order the 228R on a 111+3 LSA (108 ICL), 6 IVO, 42 IVC, 48 EVO, 0 EVC, 6* Overlap (nice chopchop). Alltogether, a very strong powerband, peak ~ 6200 with LS6 intake, will carry well till 6600+

Hmm, sounds like a very nice recipe there Predator!

To the OP - I reckon a 3600 stall converter will be very, VERY nice with that cam.

Cheers,

Macca
