I am rebuilding my motor this winter. I already got a set of Stage 2 Patriot heads. I am wanting to put forged rods and pistons in this motor. My question is how important is it to have it line bored and the decks squared? Also how bad is it to bore the motor the .005 over with out a torque plate? Im going to use the stock crank if that matters. My father is going to make a torque plate to bore the motor if it needs to be done. Im trying to do most of the machine work in house to save money, but I will have someone else do it if need be.
