tons of overlap, maybe a cold start. Either way 230s and 240s is way to small in a 427+ to sound like that.

yea but i doubt the OP has a 427.. probably a 346... so a 230ish cam would be just fine, and probably more than what he is looking for..

but i could be wrong! im just assuming!

Thats a pic my exhaust setup. Hooker long tubes into 3" mandrel bent tubes into a 3" x pipe and out 3" mandel bent tubes exiting right between my subframe connectors and traction bars before the rear tire.

When you rev it up it sounds like its reving ALOT higher. The x pipe gives it a high RPM sounds and actually adds around 10-20rwtq down low. At idle it still idles about the same sound.

I need to get a new video of the car with the exhaust on it. You can compare it to my videos i had before hand with open headers. In the video the car is idling around 900-1000rpm. I have it down to 650-750rpm now but im taking it back up to like 28 degrees timing at idle so itll be somewhere around 800rpm.

ok i thought you were saying at idle...

i know what an xpipe is.... i have one.. lol.. LT's into custom bent xpipe with 1 chamber race FM's..

xpipes are higher pitch than a hpipe (nascar), and hpipes are more of a old muscle car sound(deep and throaty)..

no need for the vid for me.. i know what open headers sound like and then going to xpipe..... open headers suck ***... xpipe is beautiful.. haha

Oh ok Haha i was wondering why you said you had one and then asked what it was lol. Doesnt yours sound like its reving alot higher to you too? I did an x pipe setup on my 95 firebird i had and had the same results and even when i got the Kooks LTs and xpipe setup for my 01 z06 i notices the same thing.

yea, its just the pitch is much more different than most you hear.. xpipes are not common.. closest thing you hear is an hpipe on the mustangs.. i dont even know any cars from factory than got an xpipe, doubt there were any...

like said, xpipe is more of a nascar sound.. and hpipe/ypipe is more of a muscle car sound..

I have a decent cam. i have a 228/232 on a 110. When i had TD (h pipe) it would lope harder. But then when i went a y pipe it did not lope has hard and i have 10* of overlap. It has to with what kind of exhaust IMO.

Liseten to the 2 exhasuts. You can tell a difference

Custom 3" O/R H and 1 Chmaber Flows

Custom Kooks O/R Y + Flowmaster Merge + GMMG C/B
