Default 409RWHP/390RWTQ, RGR STAGE 2 AND COMP CAM

Well, after I blew my old motor I finally got my new engine installed from Speed, inc. I made it all the way home and twisted my driveshaft apart.

Well, my car is a Sportsman 346" shortblock, all forged internals, RGR Stage 2 heads, 224/228 .581/.581 112LSA Cam, SLP LT's, SLP ORP, SLP LM Exhaust, ASP Underdrive, Whisper Lid/filter, etc. etc.

This was also dynod in 103^ heat and through my 12 bolt Moser with 3.73's. Car made 409RWHP/390RWTQ. Im pretty impressed with the setup. Pretty mild and made tons of power. Motor was freshly built, hadn't even been broken in yet. A/F was 12.6 across the board, timing at max torque was 24^, max timing for horsepower was at 27^. Enjoy!

Do you think I can squeeze off more power once the motor has a few more miles on it? I was hoping to be in the 420-430 range. Why are cars getting more power than mine, substantially a lot more power?

Your cam seems a little less tame than mine too. Ive also got tons of other parts that I didnt have time to list.

Oh yea, that was my N/A run, Ive got my 75 shot too for kicks.

I think so, rings don't really seat for a while as far as I know.

Nice numbers and nice curves, i think with a little more aggresive tune you can get a few more hp out of it maybe 415-420. the rings should be fully sealed by the 3rd pull but may still pick up a little more over time

Thanks a lot for the responses. I have it set for a very conservative tune because of the Nitrous, and my motor was pretty spendy ($12K). Its A/F is at 12.6 currently, max timing for torque was 24^, max timing for hp was 27^. So, its pretty conservative.

I like it that way, I just want to be on the same side. It still pulls extremely hard.

UPDATE: I just broke my driveshaft in half because of it. LOL.

Looks great..

BTW,By your graph it looks like you might have valve float above 5500rpm.Rev duals are known for this(if you have them)

My RGR's stage II, 224/581/112, LS6 Intake, and ASP Pulley should all be here next week. Thanks for making me even more anxious! I will have to wait for the 12 bolt though, the money tree is back to a seedling after this order.

Anyone care to guess what HP I should be getting? Check sig....thanks.

Oh, and great numbers!
