Its all in how you drive. My car was loud (cam, headers, ory, borla) so I normally shifted before 2k. I would pull down 25 on the hwy easily. City was around 18.

I have an m6 with a 9" w/3.89s and a Speed Inc. SI5 cam 231/237 and I get 16-17 city and 25-26 highway. Six Speeds are awsome.

Yeah, I just swapped from a tru trac and 31 spline axles to a spool and 35 spline axles and I wish I would've gone with a steeper gear like 4.11s or 4.30s.

"city"....not many stop lights, but all short 5-10 mile trips under 50mph...17-19mpg

"slow highway"...30-50miles all under 60mph with almost no lights...20-21mpg

"highway"....300miles 75-85mph with the windows down and alot of times the ttops off (lose about 1mpg i've found over 10yrs with ttops).....24-27mpg

bolt ons, 233/233 cam, 6spd, stock gears, poor part throttle tune

Its all i the tuning. It can be really good or really bad. Just depends. I know of a member who has a 10 second ls1 camaro M6 4:10 gears and a 383 stroker. He gets 26-28 Hwy. Thats about what I get.

Yep, you either need to get HP Tuners and be your own tuner, or make sure you tuner is running all the advance and as lean as is safe down in the low rpm part throttle range.
