Default egr removal? is it ok?

hey guys! ft lauderdale here! anyone else? i had my egr pipe removed and blocked off! is it safe? how long can i run it without retuning it? it runs great! but has that dam check engine light on! please anyinfo on what to do is greatly apprecitated. thanks its a 1998 ls1 with 137,000

Your engine does not need EGR to run. It is just an emissions thing.

All you need to do is get HPtuners or have a local shop tune the codes out for it and the engine will run no different than it did stock.

i have always liked to use 1 3/8 brass or steel freeze plug from auto parts store. over the rubber plugs. looks cleaner, and wont blow out or leak
