New bolts...if you mean new head bolts the answer is yes, no question. Stock bolts are torque to yield (TTY), use once and throw away. I went with ATP bolts which are better than stockers, they are not TTY. But if you have the $$ ARP head studs are the best.

I also used ls1howto when I did my H/C swap.

Why would you delete power steering? Is it a strictly strip car? What a pain...........

well deleting power steering is a few pounds of the nose of the and I am not gona fight with one of the bolts to reinstall. Im a pretty big guy so I dont see power steering being deleted as being that much of a problem.

If I was you, id throw my car in neutral going down the interstate and turn the key off and see how you like driving without power steering before I did that. When I had open headers, and I would have to sneak home late at night, I would get a running start and cut my car off before I got into my neighborhood, but I had a corner to go around before I got to my house, and it took everything I had to get it around the corner.

Yea you better think twice about deleteing the power steering. What if you decide t osell the car later. That will be a big deterance to any one looking at buying the car.

well with selling the car I would never be able to get dik outa it unless it was being baught by a guy 511 or taller and wants a drag car. it will be recieving a cage here shortly and it already has a set of race seats bolted down to the floor pans. Most of the nice luxury features have been removd as well only heat and a sound system remain. So selling it is pretty much outa the question. I have driven a few older cars with no power steering and while its tougher than one with power steering its not hateful. The pwer steering coming off is an idea I have toyed with for a while and now I am 100% taking it off I just need to know how yall are going about it.

If you are dead set on taking it off I recommend getting a manual rack instead of leaving the power rack in there. The manual has a better ratio so it will be easier to steer.

Definitely use new bolts on the heads. On the steering, you can loop it back together without going to the pump and that will be fine. Other than that, I would coverter the car to a manual rack.
