Default tv 2 cam..what do shift at?

just wondering what people with the TSP torquer 2 cam are shifting at going down the track. my mph seems kinda low to me and i am wondering if i am shifting to high or if my gear is to steep. i shift right when my factory tach reads 7 so i am guessing i am right around 67-6800 rpm. i also have 4.56 gears and run on 10.5 x 27 qtps. going through the traps my tach reads about 72-7300 in 4th gear. i'm thinking i have a little to much gear. i don't really want to do a 28" tall tire either. my mph is only 114 115 when i should be around 118. i am not to worried about mph but let me know what you think

Yeah I shift around 6500 too. In my case with a stock bottom end on a 112 + 4 degrees of advance ground in there is no need to shift higher than that . Peak HP is at 6000 for me.

It sounds like you have a little too low of a gear IMHO. Have you ever scanned or logged it to see what your RPMs are really at?

when me and my buddy did logs on hp tuners, it said i was shifting around 6700 rpm. tach read around 7k. my cam is 232-234 595/598 on 112 +2. i'm not sure but i would think the trap speed should be in the high teens.

i am told i had ported 5.3 heads. i do know they are 5.3 heads for sure though because of the casting numbers. thats basically what i get is 114-115 but if i had good heads...SHOULD be 117-119. alot of people cam only run the same mph as i do but i they seem to hit low 12's as i hit high 11's

Yeah I think it does, more than 75rwhp increase when I swapped to a Tv2 and stock 243 heads, had the fast 90 before and after the swap.

No they're dynojet so I guess if you have mustang #s yours are a good bit stronger. It was 100.6 degrees in the shop the day I had it dynoed though I guess my numbers will be lower now that I have a 9 inch...time for some more go fast goodies! And finally time to take it back to the track since I don't have to worry about breaking the 10 bolt!
