Default X1or TR230 Valvesprings??

Going with either cam above and would like to know whether to use the C918's or Rev Duals? MHO would be C918's for the TR230 due to the lower lift and Rev's for the X1 with its .591/.581 lift. What do you guys think?

Comp 918s worked well for me and many others cars that I have installed the TR230 in.

using dual revs with the tr230, tons of valve float at 6k + they suck. Bought the crane doubles and will report back when installed

I used the Heavy duty Revs, the ones that had to have machine work done on the heads to get them to fit...no problems and actually VERY quiet. the stock size Revs i don't know about.

MTI RECOMMENDS the Manley's as that is what they sell in the X1 kit...either cam you go with I'd get the Manley's in case you want to upgrade to a bigger lift cam later on. Plus...they're good insurance for the lower lift cam...I'd rather be pushing a spring to 70% of what it can do than 85% or more ya know? Kinda like my new trans...I had it built to hold a 427 on gas and I've just got a H/C 346 on gas...again, in car terms I don't think overkill can ever be a bad thing...helps save time in the future normally.

It's not only the lift but the aggressive ramp rates that can cause float. Many people overlook this and rely on lift numbers alone.

like I said earlier...Getting an x1 from MTI???
Buy the springs from them too....
I did...and I spin up to 6800 with no problems...and no float....
Its smart to use springs that a company packages with a cam....
It's not only the lift but the aggressive ramp rates that can cause float. Many people overlook this and rely on lift numbers alone.
for that reason....the Majority of companys that sell cams sell tried and proven springs that work....just get the manley springs from MTI...dont forget hardened pushrods and the titanium retainers for the springs....
maybe even get a double timing chain and a ported oil pump since you're gonna be in there and have to pull them anyways.
