Default ported oil pump questions

Ok I am slowly getting my car finished up andam wondering where I can geta good oil pump on the cheap since this build is starting to get expensive quick(college guy here bills sucks and test out the *** so works getting slow). I have looked around and I am seeing rpices of 170ish. I am not aposed to use if anyone has one in good shape. I see alot of guys using mellling pumps and ported/ blue printed ls6/ls2 pumps any recomendations or tips one what to use or where to buy would be great. also trying to find good prices on ls7 lifters and a full heads cam gasket and bolt kit as well. The sponsors pages I am looking through now but some say they sell the parts but do not list them with prices.

Katech usually has ported oil pumps for ~$150 unless there has been a price change. I've ran a Katech ported oil pump for ~6 years & 80,000+ miles. I think they are an excellent choice. Probably not the cheapest and probably not the most expensive.

you really don't need a ported one. Just a good ls6 pump w/ a pressure spring mod will work. Just unscrew the allen head nut from the pressure spring container and add a little nut or spacer in the nut cap. This will make the spring stiffer and increase pressure.
