Well then you'd wanna go with a quality forged piston and forged rod. I wouldnt skimp out on the crank though. Fully forged dumdumdum!! Quality bearings and a ARP Stud kit for the mains and heads!

Why replace the crank with a high dollar forged when the stocker is known to be good to what 800 HP?

I have sprayed mine with a 250 shot numerous times with no problems at all. This is what I have.

Diamond Pistons
Lunati Rods
Stock Crank
GM MLS head gaskets
ARP Head Studs
Good Computer tune
NGK TR8s

TR6s will be toast on a 250hp shot. I have run TR7s on the 250 shot but they were right on the edge of melting. I have sprayed a 150hp shot on TR6s but that is my limit. If you plan on running that big of shot on a street car, make sure you buy plenty of spark plugs. The TR8s are safe but they do not last long on a daily driver. I pull a few plugs between rounds at the drag strip just to inspect them and then I pull all of them between race weekends just to give them a thorough cleaning and re-gap them. A 250 shot is no joke. You have to get in a routine of checking plugs and nitrous/fuel jets.

Not for a big shot, you want a colder plug than a TR6.

Forged pistons, forged rods, ARP or katech rod bolts, ARP main studs, ARP head studs. Stock crank is good over 1000HP. Fuel system and tuning will be your biggest concern.

Just about all of the forged part brands out there will do the trick.

Agreed, also good fuel and COLD plugs, per say a TR-9.

Also the car will need a direct port system, no plate kit will support past 150 with out a chance of having a nitrous backfire.

What (BRAD8266) said. Unless you want to stroke it, the stock crank will handle more than a 250 shot. Also dont forget to have the rotating assembly ballanced after you get every thing.
