Default 4.8, 5.3, LS1 Qs

I am getting a 4.8 long block for free and was wondering about a few things. What I was looking at doing is taking the crank out of my old LS1 and putting in in the 4.8. Should make it a 5.3, and make the compression ratio jump to 10.5 from the stock 9.5 roughly. Is this info correct?
So if that's the case, what is the difference between that and a factory 5.3? Cylinder heads or pistons, or both?

Also are any of the bolts in the bottom end torque to yeild? I know the head bolts are, but the rod and main bolts?

thanks guys.

throw in the ls1 crank, bore it out to use the ls1 pistons, and stick some arp rod bolts in it.

I want to just re-ring it, trying to just build it out of what I have laying around. Budget build for my S10.

The rods are longer in the 4.8, so you can't just drop in the LS1 crank. You can re-use the main and rod bolts.

you can not increase stroke on a bore that has miles on it bc it has some wear on the bore and when the ls1 crank makes the new pistons come down further its gonna hit the area that has no wear i know i am not good at explaining things

^^Yea it'll squeeze it and not run smooth.

Any time you increase the Stroke on a used Engine you should get it bored smooth. Since you would have to bore it, I would make it an Iron 5.7l.
