Default Zo6 Heads

Would stock ZO6 heads work on a stock LS1? I found a good deal on some and just wondering if it it worth it. $500 dollars for the pair.

Do you mean LS6 heads? If so, then the answer is definitely yes.

I'm not sure. I'm new to the LS1 world. Ever since I've owned my car which is only about six months I've been amazed about how many options there is out there to an LS1 they have what a LS2 and a 6. What is the difference on all these besides the years of the motor? What parts can you interchange and what can't you? Like I said the add said Z06 heads $500 dollars are. I have a 99 TA all stock. Are they even worth buying our should I get something aftermarket like Trick Flow. What is the difference between my stock ones and the stock Z06 or LS6 heads. Horsepower rating that is.

an ls2 is a 6.0l motor the heads are inter interchangeable but the ls2 heads have steel exhaust valves verse the ls6 sodium filled exhaust valves. they both shear the 243 casting # on the heads, but if there are 243 casting #s they are worth $500

if you're bone stock, there are better things to spend your $500 on.

lie, intake, headers, exhaust, gears, shifter, torque converter, suspension....depending on what your car is...

the ls6 heads are what came on the zo6 optioned corvettes. they are slightly higher compression i think and flow a little better than the ls1 heads. stock for stock on a bone stock motor you'd probably see about 10hp. not enough to make it worth it.

however they can be ported by any one of sponsors to be a really great flowing set of heads. mate that with a cam and you can have some serious power. but it depends on your goals and wallet.

for comparison,

ls1 heads flow ~240cfm i think
ls6 heads flow ~260cfm i think
ported heads generally average around 290-310cfm
