Most people compare HP gains with Rearwheel HP, measured on a dyno.
the base # for A4's is 285-295rwhp or so. the base for M6's is around 300-310rwhp.

it ranges alot. Cams have a big range for stock heads now. You can do a sleeper 220/220 or a little more mild 224/224 | 227/224, or go to a big cam like the G5X-2.

a 220 could get you 370rwhp or so with good manifolds, or with the G5X-2 you could see well over 400rwhp

Headers are a must when using a cam. If you want to make an big power from the cam, you should install a nice set of headers.

If the engine was out, id do a LS6 or the new LSx intake swap if you have a 98-00, ASP pully, and mabe a portedTB.

Cam = 20 to 40 hp, depending which one
headers = 20 to 25 hp
PCM tuning after the above mods, 20 to 25 hp.
Pulley = 6 to 10 hp.
Definitly do the pulley, great mod with no downsides. I got very good results with my TR224-114 cam; excellent power, very good driveability after tuning.
