Default Pushrods & Head gasket size question (prc 2.5 5.3l heads)

What size pushods and head gaskets should I use with my MS3 / PRC 2.5 5.3L heads (unmilled). I have some 7.425 pushrods in the motor now (old setup).Need help asap!! Thanks!

Throw one of your 7.425" pushrods in and check the preload with them. Chances are they will be fine. You are just going to want to check. I would look for .060-.080". You can also check with an adjustable pushrod length checker.

what about the gaskets? going with gm MLS gaskets. will those be fine?

i dont have an adjustable pushrod length checker so can anyone else give me some feedback on using 7.425 length pushrods with a MS3/ PRC 2.5 5.3L head setup?

Do you have access to a dial indicator? If so, as Jon stated, you can measure using those and if you have too much/little preload that will tell you and you can figure it out from there.

GM MLS gasket (.054 compressed) is what you should run to clear a MS3 unless you are flycut.

PR's should work with gasket listed but you should still measure to be sure. A pr checker is only about $20
