241 heads worth it????
Are the 241 heads a good head to p/p or would you go with another head to start with? I would like to stay with these heads just because I already have them but is it really worth putting alot of time and money in them, if not what would you reccomend?

It all depends on the cam you want to run. 243 castings are the best IMO, then 5.3L castings.
The issue with 241s is that they are 67cc. If milled then your choice of cam becomes smaller. If you want a big stick, but same compression, yeah the are good.
Bottom line a good porter can get close to or 300cfm out of those heads.

They are just a better design from factory, initialy they were expansive as LS6 option. Nowadays with LS2s they are plenty.
They work well on bigger cubes as well.
It all depends on which cam you are putting in or who ports the heads. There is a sponsor here having them with 220cc intake (same as most ported 5.3s), so velocity is there.

They, do, I was pretty impressed witha couple of sets I used on a couple of Luminas here (Holden/GTO). Very nice work indeed, very consistant since i had ordered the 2 sets 6 months apart, yet they flowed close to each other and very close to their advertisement. Both were stage 2s

So they both flowed around 300cfm? Very nice! Ive often wished I had mine flowbenched just to see what they really flow.
Well If I decide to get a new set of heads Ill keep these in mind. What is the CC size? Wouldn't have any PTV issues with these heads would you?

I had a pair of custom CnC ported 241s put on mine the other day - resident head guru Nathan Higgins prepared - and they are making the same power/tq as the expensive heads that I had on it were.

I have fully ported 241's on my TA and they flow just as good if not better than other castings. A lot of it depends on the guy doing the porting work. These heads can support good power.

I have some Craig Gallant Stg 2+ 241s that flowed 317cfm @ .600 and was outflowing the heads I had initially chosen by avg. +22cfm all the way up to .600.
So yes there is some potential w/ 241's, just find the right porter.

That is the info I am looking for, the Graig Gallant stage 2 is that a pagage you buy or do you send the heads to them.
