Default Cam install Q

Should I swap the springs before I swap the cam or after?

Either way. It doesn't matter. The rocker arms are going to be off when you spin the cam to push the lifters up so it won't matter if the springs are changed yet.

Doesn't matter what order you do it in as long as you don't run the motor until the springs are done.

You could do springs one day, go back in a few weeks later and take care of the cam. They are almost 2 seperate jobs.

Great wrrite up, JMX. Except you left out the part about how that damn A.I.R. fitting is bolted on top of the driverside coil packs and bolted again in between the head and firewall. That was a bitch. I also just about blew shotgun holes in my radiator

I would swap the springs AFTER for one simple reason. In the nightmare case you drop a lifter during the cam swap, the heads have to come off anyway. Why break your *** doing springs in the car if you have to wind up pulling the heads anyway?
