Default Mamo Combo

I would like to hear from anyone running this combo (AFR 205's and AFR 6016) and making anywhere near 481 RWHP.

I started the process on my 02 Z06. I just had the cam (AFR 6016) installed last week and and made 432rwhp and 391rwtq on a Mustang Dyno. Supporting mods were Halltech Venom air intake and LG Street headers, no cats. So, assuming the heads are good for another 30rwhp over stock LS6 heads and the Ported FAST adds 20-25rwhp then there you go...somewhere pretty close with an average size cam.

you can see in my sig what my HP/TQ ratings are... I'm using the 205's but have just the regular AFR springs... not the upgraded ones...

So you are changing your combo (Dart 205's & VHP 056) to the AFR 205's and AFR 6016 right? Please let us know how that works out.

Did you consider sending those heads out to someone that knows what they are doing and let them hand port them and do a nice valve job? The darts supposed to work well after a little work.

The 205/6016 combo performs.

Search in the dyno results section, there is a ton of info on it.

Yep, thanks for asking. Didn't limit my working on the car much at all.

I did think about it but I also like experimenting with things so I did a complete swap. Part of the fun of owning the car for me

I have been searching. Tony seems to be the only one making that kind of power. I dont understand, That combo was the **** 4 years ago. Have cams changed very much in that time?

I would assume Tony's setup was a max effort setup, probably every bolt-on you can buy and the best headers, electric waterpump, etc. That may not be the case but that's what I'm guessing.

I don't see any reason why those heads/cam and FAST wouldn't make 450rwhp all day long though, and should have stock-like driveability. More power would just be a slightly larger cam away.

Made 500 RWHP with AFR 205's on a 346. But, that was not with an AFR cam.

I just tuned a 346 with AFR 205 heads and the 6016 cam. It only had an LS6 intake (not the ported FAST 90), it's compression was a little lower than the Mamo combo, and did not have an electric water pump. Still, it made 444 rwhp and 421 rwtq. Very nice combo.

My setup is really close to this combo, but the lift on my cam is .600 ...and I've been dynoing at 445.

Was it cam of this size? Or much larger?
