Default Suggestions on rockers please

I have been thinking about doing a very mild head upgrade. Basically all I want to do is replace the rocker arms, springs and pushrods. My motor is completely stock. I have only a CIA and a cat-back. I really am not in the position to spend money on a whole heads and cam swap. I just want a little something.
I have 3 basic questions:
1. Will upgrading just the rocker arms, spring, pushrods make a difference?
2. What type/brand parts should I go with?
3. How hard is it to change rockers on a f-body?

Thanks for any and all help!

I would not waste my money on rocker arms. The stock ones will hold up to quite a bit of HP. Just doing Springs and Pushrods probably will not give you any increased power, But when you are ready to do a Cam, you will be 1/2 way there.

what he said

The only aftermarket rockers I would ever try would be the SLP 1.85's, and I am not even sure if they make them anymore. They were truly a stock replacement, ie. no grinding needed.

I did my cam swap on my Z06 at 70k. The car has seem many HPDEs and lots of higher RPM use for extended time periods. So... when pulling it apart I didn't want to put the stock rocker arms back in for fear of a needle bearing failure w/ the added stresses of a bigger cam. It came down to haveing Harland Sharp modify the stockers or get some aftermarket units. Most of the aftermarket pieces put more weight over the valve which was/is a bad thing. Then I found out that Yella Terra revised their rocker arms and came out w/ a new ultralight unit wich had all the pros of a full rollerized rocker w/o the addeed weight. Got them from a discount place on ebay and they were only about $100 more than having HS modify my stockers so it was a no brainer. I've had them in for about 2 years and 15,000 miles now w/o issue.

so basically you guys are saying that with stock internals, upgrading rocker arms is completely useless? I wont get any gain?

If you go with a higher ratio rocker it will be a slight gain, but not worth the trouble or the money.
A cam kit would cost roughly the same amount of money as a rocker, spring, and pushrod swap. Are you figuring labor for a cam swap or something?

No i really wasnt planning a cam swap. i was going to do the rockers myself. but i guess stock internals wont gain anything. Gotta figure something else out.

With a near stock setup, gears are a better bang for the buck. No "hp" bragging rights, but it will make the car quicker.

yea well I have 3.90s (which I regret IMMENSELY). Seems like the heavy *** 18s just cancelled out the gears. so basically my only "go fast" mods are intake, catback, and UD pulley.
