I'm very happy with my cometics haven't had any problems running 10# of boost. They are a bit pricy though.

I use stock GM MLS gaskets. Gaskets blowing is a sign of to much timing on the spray..

What about copper gaskets? How do they do when compared to the stock MLS?

Cometics are awesome if you want to spend the money, but on 150 shot there is no reason why you should be having problems with GM MLS gaskets. Sounds like you may have another issue going on.

I wouldn't know what would be different about them. As far as i knew it was the same part number regardless of year.

Item number 20-12589226 is what i ran before.

They said that because the MLS gaskets came into play in 2002 on lsx motors.

Some 01-back use the graphite gaskets that are weaker for spray. Hope this helps

Ah didn't realize that. Its been years since i had my 99 apart and changed them over... forget what it had.

I think if the OP goes with that part number i posted above he will be fine.

I think 99 and earlier have the notches on the deck of the heads in which you have to run graphites unless you want a machine shop to weld that notch in and cut the head. I hear the factory mls gm gaskets are great.
