Default PRC 5.3 2.5 stage guys come on in

I recently bought a set of these head and a cam for my car. Exactly how do these heads differ from ls6 heads? Also how do most of you like them concerning driviability and performance
If I got cold feet and decided to go with a set of ported ls6 heads, how well do you guys they would complement a 232/236 .575/.578 114 lsa cam

they have smaller combustion chambers and raise the compression ratio a little more than the ls6's. be careful with those heads though. i know of more than one person who ran the texas speed 2.5 5.3's and their rocker arm mounts simply fell apart. and since you didnt buy them directly from tsp they wont be warrantied any more. good luck

that doesnt sound good, seems like there might be a nice set of 5.3 heads on the market very soon.

These are good heads, when did you get them? How old are they? If they are the new 5.3's then you should be fine, besides you arent going to get alot from selling these as they are like 1200 new, depending on the condition you might get 800ish.
I'm making 420ish with 5.3's a 224/228 through pacesetters and a 9 inch. You wont get a whole lot more than that from the LS6 heads. If your that worried about it get a set of TFS or AFR and be done with it.

I recently got them from a friend who had them on his car for a very short time 200-300 miles. they are not very old at all. the have zero residue on them. If you know anybody that wants them, I will let them go for 900 shipped.

Those would go great with that cam, sure LS6 heads would be good, BUT unless ported the same way, you may actually lose.

I just dont know if passing up a set of ls6 heads would be the best thing for my setup. I think its just one of those things that I did on a whim. If I had it to do over I would have just waited. Oh well my lose will be someone else's gain.

You will not have an issue with these heads. That is an old issue on LS6 heads, not 5.3L heads. There is no need for LS6 heads. The 5.3L heads make some nice power.

def. stick with the 5.3s.. the increased compression will give you more power and the difference between the two is minimal other than the compression factor... especially with a smaller cam.

Its not worth it to switch for that head. Power difference wont be worth it. If your going to switch go AFR or TFS no doubt.
