Why in the world are you running PRC dual springs, CM Pr.s, new lifters(ls7) but with the stock LS6 cam?

Spend a few more bucks and get alot more HP out of your build. Yea at least get the LS6. Im running an LQ4 with 5.3 heads and 92/92... Im right above 400. That LS1 intake is going to hurt you alittle. If you have the engine out I would for sure buy a 300 dollar cam to put in the LQ.

The thing is I dont have $300 to spend on a cam and I dont mind changing the cam in the car so I will go bigger later on but for now this is what I have to work with and its whats in my budget and im sure its better than the stock LQ4 cam or stock 98 camshaft. If I dont get the LS6 intake, what do you think Ill be look in at HP wise? A bigger cam and an LS6 intake would prob make a decent build but like I said, it is what it is. I think a bigger cam would get less hp if it was with LS1 intake due to it being choked, the LS6 cam may not choke it up as much and may flow smoother, yes the LS6 would be the good choice from here but if I cant get my hands on one then im stuck with LS1 for now.

As is, what am I looking at? Thanks

dude, just wait until you have enough money to do it right. you need minimum ls6 intake mani. that motor wont make **** for power without the ls6 intake and a diff cam. also remember it is heavier than the aluminum ls1.

I know its heavier, cams and intakes can be added after Im done. You cant say it wont make **** for power, because it will make alot of torque most likely but yes the HP may be lower than it could be.

I made 376rwhp @ 361rwtq with an LS6 cam and springs. Stock 241 heads, LS6 intake, LTs, ORY, ASP, PTB, etc.... With a tune. I would guess untuned you would make 340-350rwhp with your current mods.

so basically you've got a flat-top piston motor with stock 241 heads and 364cid. so you're sitting on stock ls1 compression, with an ls6 cam and ls1 intake. i think 365-370whp would easily be attainable with a good tune. i've seen bolt-on ls6 motors make 380-400whp through an m6 and 10 bolt. for comparison sake - you've got more cubes, weaker heads slightly less compression and a slightly weaker intake.

Thanks for the info, what im probably going to do now is mill the heads .030 I think it is, use a TREX camshaft with LS6 intake, not sure what kind of power ill make with that setup.
