White smoke after WOT
After a WOT run today, i left it in gear and let it rev down from around 6k rpms. My buddy (in his mustang behind me ) reported that I was billowing white smoke. This means I'm burning oil, correct? I have no oil leaks, but I do have an aftermarket cam with 918's (very small lift cam). Could this be a broken/cracked valve spring? My track times are much slower as well...any idears?

Re: White smoke after WOT
Letting it rev down from redline is very bad. The throttle body is closed, yet the engine is trying to suck mass amounts of air in. The vacuum created is huge, and that is going to suck in a heck of a lot of oil, which in turn produces the white smoke.
Take it outta gear next time or push in the clutch. Brakes are for slowing down, the engine is for speeding up

Uh, I'm with z28kid98 on the white smoke/coolant. Sounds like it's pulling water in on decelleration, I would think possibly because of the huge vacuum you're pulling let it suck, er, spin down like that. To be sure, if the "smoke" dissipated quickly, it's water/coolant vapor. If it lingers, then it's smoke.
