Re: Checking for bent valves Checking the compression on each cylinder using a compression tester will tell you very easily. I suspected a bent valve and checked each cylinder. #7 would only build up 110psi and the others were at 215. I knew right away. Obviously checking the springs first to be sure one is not broken is step #1.
