Default When to change to synthetic oil on new 427 C5R Block Engine?

My brand new MTI 427 C5R lS6 Headed engine has about 925 miles on it now. I want to break in the motor perfectly and give the rings the best chance to seat to get best results with oil consumption.

After 500 miles i changed oil to non synthetic 10W-40 PENZOIL OIL and will probably change the oil again at about 1500 to 2000 miles. I am thinking that i will continue to run 10W-40 motor until engine gets around 4000 miles on it.

Would you change to MOBIL 1 synthetic sooner than this and after how many miles on new engine would you make switch over to MOBIL ONE?

Thanks!

Yeah, I'd put synthetic in it at 1000 miles.

I agree with the above, but I'd go with redline synthetic instead of mobil 1. I feel it is a superior oil over the rest. it costs a little more and is harder to find, but nothing but the best for my baby. just my $.02

Guess I will throw in another $.02, I use Delvac 1, also from Mobile. 5W-40 syn. I use it right from the start in my new LS motors. I put a lot of miles on my cars and they never use any oil. 427 eh? Wow, that must be fun to drive!
