need help with valve cover bolts by wednesday!
taking everything off to put in new lifters and this happened. anybody who has an idea of what i can do can see the problem in the pic so i wont even say. do not want to buy new heads but if thats what i have to do... lifters are coming in on wednesday so i have a few days to think of something.

well heres the thing, i never knew that that bolts only had to be torqued very little so i would always tighten them real right (didnt want oil leaking out! ) and it just so happened that this time (with socket wrench and socket) it was tough, a pop, then real loose. the long one i grabbed with vise grips and twisted out and then with the smaller one, you can notice if you look close in the pic, i got a size smaller socket, hammered it on and broke it free. i went to a dealership and the two bolts cost almost $10. so everyone- THESE ONLY NEED TO BE A LITTLE MORE THAN SNUG!
