LQ4 build specs, anyone wanna check them?
Stock shortblock LQ4
stock 5.3L heads (P&P w/ LS1 intake valves)
224/236 .612, .607 117+2 LSA
Vic Jr.
Holley 750dp
shorty headers w/ 2.5 duals
TH400
3500-4000 stall
9" rear/3.50 gears/spool
M/T 235/60-15
2800lb Nova wagon
Will the cam create and PTV clearance issues?
The alternative is:
L92 heads milled to 62cc w/ .045 gasket
218/230 .595/.600 116LSA+3 advance
I'm looking for
10.8-11.0:1 compression
6800 redline
150-200 shot n2o (compatible)
STEALTHY set-up
The first cam was a PredatorZ spec'd cam the second was a PatrickG spec'd cam.

I have a very similar set-up
LQ4 with PRC 2.5 5.3 heads
Same cam specs beside on a 111+2
My heads were milled .020"
I had PTV issues on the exh. side. My heads have the larger valves that TSP used to sell. You will be fine with clearance IMO. Always check though.

I am new to what is going on with building my 6.0. I have one in my 2001 gmc and trying to figure out how the best way to rebuild it without spending tons of money and makeing decent power. Are my stock heads pretty good or are these heads you guys are talking about much better? Also any more info is apreciated.

Stock heads are fine to mill down for higher compression. In my case i got the engine as a short block so I have been looking for a set of heads and have decided the easiest way to get to my target 11:1 compression is to use the 5.3 heads. I can always have them ported and machined for larger valves, maybe stock LS1 size to keep clearances in a safe range.

With a 3500+ stall i would go with a Victor Jr. On the stock 5.3 heads the budget route is just have the seats cut for stock 2.00 int. valves and do a mild bowl blend, if i remember right the exh. valve is the same. Im sure a set of stock 2.0 s will be easy to find. Just a buget mind speaking......

The victor jr and 3500 conv. will hook better on the street that the rpm with a tite conv. The combo in my sig would dead hook and ****** the tires on the street and then i hit it with 175 around 25' out.... On the street. The other combo with the rpm just falls off bad on the topside...IMO.
