Ported head people, please post......
Post what kind of heads you have, what cam and other mods, your RWHP, RWTQ, track times, and level of satisfaction with your purchase, if you got what you expected or were promised, if you'd buy the same heads again, how was the customer service, etc.
Please keep it civil, I don't want it to get this locked, but I would like to see how everyone feels about their heads and setups. This can be valuable information in helping people decide what brand of heads perform, and which heads do not. That being said, I'll go first.
My first combo was TEA S2 5.7s, TR 230/224, full boltons, etc. I dynoed 410 & 373, and 420 & 383 with a cutout, shortbelt, and other dyno tricks. In fairness, I dynoed through a 4.30 geared 12 bolt. I felt that my combo didn't perform as it should have, although I never took it to the track, it was not dynoing equally to comparable setups.
If I had it to do over again, I would have shopped around for my first set of heads, not just ordered what I could afford, but what I wanted, and something to meet my goals the first time.

See sig
Satisfaction with head purchase on a scale of 1 to 5
1 - being the heads crack and hydrolock the engine or something similar
2 - valves leak oil, smokes, springs break, hand full of metal shavings left in head, several major issues, many minor issues etc
3 - under performs on dyno or 1/4 mile, major issue or several minor ones
4 - performs as expected - product did as advertised and promised. No major issues maybe one minor one.
5 - being the set up exceeds your expectations and no issues of any kind with heads.
I'd say about 2.3 but I reserve the right change my rating.

My cylinder head list...
1) LS6 castings, I hand ported them, ended up with 418rwhp - 422rwhp with inital cam. Tried a few cams ran well, simply wanted more performance.
2) TEA 5.3 truck heads, ran well made 425-430 rwhp with the same cam. Heads performed well, great bang for the buck.
3) Sent TEA heads to motor guy in texas. Hand ported the bowls, installed new valves, just touched up the ports. Heads now flow 314 and 22X @ .600.
If I were to do it all over again, I would purchase a package that guaranteed 450rwhp unless the cost was way out of wack.

TEA 5.3 S1.5 heads and 224/224 .563 114 cam
399.9 rwhp SAE corrected (locked verter)
very happy with the price vs performance. Customer service was TOP NOTCH!!
ET's... crappy 11.5's at 119 with a crappy 60ft on a blown out posi
she's been 11.50@117 cam only on a 1.55 60ft and she went 11.5@119 on a 1.65 in crappy weather after heads
realistic goals for my setup: 11.29@121(hopefully better but not a big deal)

Re: Ported head people, please post......
1st combo 5.3 head mildly done by me, 228 cam, best was 11.59@117
2nd set was 5.7 heads done by me with help from my co-workers when I worked at TEA.
Best 1/4 et was 11.31@120 in 800 da
New set is 5.3L stage 2 heads done by TEA 2.05/1.57 valves, they are going on my 383 being built right now. I am not sure what it will go on motor (dropping down my converter), But I am expecting it to go in the 9's on the nitrous.

2001: i know, but i dont shoot for high goals. If I say 10.9's and only run 11.3's then i look like a idiot:-P
but in normal DA ill be very happy with 11.2-3's when i get a few things straight. Anything better is just a matter of timing -1500DA or something the luck of the draw

Re: Ported head people, please post......
My heads are the Absolute Speed's 5.3 stage 2s with the G5X2 cam. I am happy with the setup and it runs good and strong. I was a little disappointed with my dyno numbers, but when Jay @ AS seen the graph on the net, he immediately emailed me and told me that I may have some valve float going on. I have the Comp 987 springs which have floated on ALOT of the G5X2 cams. He said hed give me new head gaskets, new head bolts, new custom length pushrods (for my Comp R lifters) and pay for shipping to and from via UPS because I was disappointed and I should have dynoed more. Hes also upgrading the heads to the stage 2.5s for free also. So, customer service is a 10+ and I would definately buy these heads again in a heartbeat!
