Default Stock Pushrods OK With Dual Springs?

I'm doing a H/C swap with a Torquer V.2 and some ported 853's that have patriot gold's on them. I had the heads milled .020 and I was told I could run a stock length pushrod. My question is, could I run the stock pushrods or would they not hold up well against the much stiffer dual springs?

Thanks,
Brandon

Absolutly not.
Stock pushrods are barley adequate for a stock motor.
You could get by with stockers on a set up like yours to get from point A to point B only..& I wouldn't get on it.
Don't make yourself go back into your motor immediatly after you get it running.

Why the hell would you spend the money on heads and cam and then not spend the extra $110 for pushrods? I think the length is probably ok but best to just get a pushrod length checker for like $20 and verify it yourself.

The stock pushrods will flex and bend with the dual springs. You are taking a chance of bouncing the lifters on the cam lobes and causing serious damage. I highly recommend that you spend the money for chromemoly pushrods.

well im installing the cam this weekend and i dont want to order pushrods untill i check it (i sure stock length is fine but if im getting new pushrods i should get the exact right ones) but i need my car to drive and can not have it down for a week or more

so how are stock pushrods with big cams and dual springs is the question, will i be able to go get the car tuned with them in (making several hard passes on the dyno?)

I swapped out my pushrods within 100 miles of having it, on the stock engine. The stock ones arent even good enough for stock.

Change them no matter what.....
