Default 2000 LS1 Questions

First, I bought Will Handzels book on how to build HP LS1 engines. I read it.

I bought a 2000 LS1 shortblock with 12000 miles as my base. How do I identify the cam thats in it? THere are no OEM numbers like 125XX...like the book says. On the rear of the cam I found a small etched barcode and 3 rows of numbers. They are 0965 then S 19 then 0144. Is this the stock cam?

I am building a 67 camaro for a driver and for some corner carving/road racing stuff. My goal is 400-500 fly wheel horsepower on fuel injection. Will port matched LS1 or LS6 heads, TR224 or FM13 Cam and good headers get me there? My goal is a TKO600 behind it. Since I am building an entire car right now, my engine budget is limited. I want power idle-6500 rpm. I have an LS1 intake, will an LS6 intake give me much below 6500?

THanks, Shannon

Any help on the cam? If it's not enough info, where else to look on the cam?

0965 on the cam is the last 4 of the GM Part Number.

Which according to the book you have means it came out of a '99 or '00 T/A or Camaro........

Specs:- PN12560965 198/209 0.500"/0.500" LSA119.5*

Awesome, thanks. I was hoping it to be a better cam, but now I get to choose the one I want.
