Question want a recipe for 10 sec cam only nitrous car.

Just wanted to get some basic combos that would net me a 6.90-6.50 in the eight mile. 2000 A4 TA.
It's completly stock except lid/filter.
I was thinking t rex cam, 4400 stall, 3:90 gear in the weak 10 bolt for now, ET streets, NX 150 shot wet, and the common supporting mods(longtubes, ory, pulley, ls6 Intake,)and tube. Any opinions appreciated.

could probably get there with a much smaller cam.

something designed more for the juice would probably benefit more.

call up the vendors....see what they recommend

Mid to LOW 10's on a 10 bolt..... GOOD LUCK!!

You need to seriously cut a good 60 foot thats in the 1.4 minimum.

As for others I agree, the cam can and should be smaller, 22x/23x max. The stall is fine, bolt ons good, a Drag radial or even a ET drag will be great since the run is done in half the distance.

Also WEIGHT. Time to start cutting it down, that will have a huge impact on EVERYTHING.

i agree. i know a guy that ran 10s with a 232/234 cam, lts, ory, stall and 150 shot in a full weight car and hitting the juice when the rpms got up enough after he left the line.

It took me a 200 shot to get there full weight, but with 3.90's you'll run out of gear with a 26'' tire. I am running 3.42's and going through the traps at 6100.

if you get a cam that can get you around 400RWHP reliabley, with a giid spring and a little more RPM, a 75 wet shot should get you into the 10's

A number of years ago, my car was making 396RWHP and 381RWTQ and with a 75 wet-shot I ran 10.701 @ 128

Nitrous was on from 3000-6600 on a window switch and a WOT switch. I would launch at 5K and leave with a 1.40/1.41 60' Powershift at 6200 with the juice staying on, nitrous would turn off at 6600rpm in 4th with about 50' to go before the stripe. I would hit the 7000rpm limiter at the traps with 4:11's in a 12-bolt on a 26" slick.

my buddy has the perfect setup..

2000 b4c. 234/242 on a 110, 4k yank 175 shot. stock long block (241 heads), pacesetter long tubes into 3" x and dumped 4x9 magnaflows. stock ls6 intake, stock throttlebody, stock pulley....a/c, cruise, everything still there. COMPLETELY STOCK suspension. stock snowflake wheels with 255 bfg drag radials with the stock 323 rear. car went 10.7 @ 128 with a very lackluster 60'. absolutely NO weight pulled.

he's got the kit on a ******* toggle switch that he hits about 10' out. the car spins its *** off for like 50' haha. i think the car would go 130+ and easily ET 10.4 if he'd work the suspension and get a real tire on it.

there is your recipe. easy as pie haha.

put it this way, if you can get it 7.1 or so all motor, you'll be 6.6 with spray easyyyy.

in an automatic car its really should be that hard. a decent cam that makes good torque (a good old 224 cam makes a nice torque curve) and not something you have to rev to the moon. that way you can get it out of the gate and carry it. a stall matched to your cam specs and a good tire like a hoosier or mt drag radial. let the nitrous come on as soon as the car rolls out and i think its will run 10's all day. if it can make close to 500rwhp on a dyno it will be gravy.

**** then what do you think a a4 with a 3800 stall, 3.23s, mt dr's and an estimated 550-570rwhp should do? (Thats what I think Ill make on spray)

it should run i just know it doesnt take much "dyno" hp to get an automatic car down the track. just proper selection of a few select parts.
