How many of you have "bulletproofed" a LS1?
I was kind of thinking of possibly rebuilding my LS1 with good rods, rod bolts, pistons, ETC. Maybe a girdle... just pretty much make it a bit more boost friendly.
Have any of you had luck with doing this? Im currently at 600+rwhp with stock bottom end... so IMO it seems like the LS1 block can handle the power?.?.?.? Just the bottom end is the weak link. Has anyone found the limits of the LS1 block itself?
Is it worth it to do this to my LS1 or just purchase a aftermarket short block? Or maybe find a 6.0 and put the good stuff in it?
Just throwing around some ideas...... any feedback would be appreciated.

CARTEK built a Vette with stock block and stock crank that made 1000HP+ with twin turbo's and stay together for a very very long time. The car ran 8.49 as I remember.
With the right pistons, rods a top quality build and the right tuning, you can make a LS1 take a lot of punishment and stay together.
