why ls2 timing cover?

Default why ls2 timing cover?

Im in the process right now of getting my motor together and see a lot of people swaping to a ls2 timing cover.... whys that? Is it worth the extra money to do so?

they moved the cam senser to the timing cover. the ls2 cam dosent have the reluctor on the cam anymore so if your replaceing the ls1 with a ls2 you need to get the signal for the cam there - that would be my only guess
