Default Head questions

Blondes or brunettes, who does it better?
But to the real question...
My mechanic took my LS1 corvette for a spin after installing a stage 3 clutch. He noticed a bit of smoke coming out of my exhaust and seems to think I have a broken head gasket or a cracked head. Assuming the worst, I'll be replacing my heads this week. I have a mild cam, I don't have any specs, I was just told and know from dyno #s that it is very mild. What heads should I be looking for? I've seen a good deal on AFR 205 that have been milled to 59cc and Trick Flow 215 64cc. But I have know idea what heads would be best for my application at all. Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Also while I'm doing heads, what else besides springs and a gasket should replace while he's in there? What springs and gaskets are recommended?

Need more info on your cam to better offer an opinion. Without the info I say go with the afr 205's. I like mine so much that I reused them on my 402, and got excellent results.

could be something as simple as running rich...

what happens if he pulls the heads and everything is OK?

but yeah....of those 2 heads, i would say the AFRs would be the best choice

It was running fine before this, so I know its not just running rich. There is coolant in my exhaust, so its definitely either a head gasket or head. There is no coolant in my oil so I know my intake manifold isn't the issue. If he pulls the heads off and they're fine then he would just have to replace the gasket, but I figure if I'm already paying for the labor I might as well increase my performance a bit.

I've also been looking at a set of Patriot Stage II heads with 59cc, they do fit my budget a little better. Any opinions on these?
