yep, That pickup tube is a mother. I pinched my last week... but for some odd reason I insisted on taking it back off to check before I put it back together. Glad I did. Hopefully I didnt pinch this one. I havent fired mine up yet. You take the heads off?

Sounds really good

Probably saved between $400-600 doing it yourself. Plus, you know it was all done right. Good job!

^^ i see what ur saying but i feel pretty good knowing i did it myself and if it ever has to be done again ,or anything motor related i can do it myself w/o any worries. w/ a good guide and proper set of tools theres nothing to it. thank goodness for LS1tech and there how to guides and other members for the input. its not as big of a nightmare as i thought it would be working on a newer f-body.

thats not too bad at all. i almost have everything i need for mine and plan on doing it myself too. i was quoted $6-700 for a complete swap. theres no way i would pay that. might as well do the work yourself and learn somehting.

cam retaining plate was about $20 bucks through the dealership but for some reason the bolt holes were a little diffrent(countersunk) and i ended up using a diffrent type bolt (torx head)

This is essentially the same setup I'm going to attempt to install, so I'm glad to hear that it is managable - I just can't see spending the extra $$ to have someone else do the job...
