...stock rockers tend to spill their needle bearings....but lots of folk re-use them...
...R lifters use less pre-load...

No you can do it with nonadjustable rockers. It is just more difficult to get the preload right. You will need to use shims on the rockers and different length pushrods.

So with all things being equal and the only change is the comp R lifters you would have too much preload? Is that right? You would then need to shim the rockers up until you got it right?
What are you guys using as shims?
