Anyone have mildly ported heads with STOCK CAM
Just wondering if anyone has ported factory heads with boltons and a stock cam.
What gain did it net you?
The search sucks by the way

this has been a hottly discussed topic recently. there was somebuy with an LS6 i think that put on good heads and all the bolt ons and was over 400rwhp.
car drove and sounded DEAD STOCK...other than the usual louder exhaust.
if you want reliability, POWER and stealth....while its a bit more pricey...a GOOD set of heads is a perfect way to achieve it.
having done the reading....my next LSx car will likely be a daily driver...and i plan to do the basic boltons...and then a set of GOOD heads milled for good compression.

I put PRC stage 1 317s on my stock lq9 in my truck. Compression is now 10.63:1. I don't notice much of a gain, but the cam is only .479 lift and it's also harder to feel gains in a 4800lb truck vs 3500lb camaro. We'll see how it does with a cam. Looking back, I think it would have been a better choice for me to add the AFR 205cc heads for better throttle response.

I have a set of ported 241 castings on my car now..... seem to perform pretty decent at the rpm range im turning.... just blows aftermarket castings are so much for the LSX platform.... oh well... save and wait. LOL.
But im not on stock cam or rotating assembly either...... I would say if you can get it done cheap (and right) like I did why not?

I had better luck with google advanced search "Advanced Induction 241 site:ls1tech.com"
Advanced Induction ported 241 pictures! Phil from AI gives quite a few details in this thread
417 rwhp/425 rwtq N/A LS1 with stock cam!
Gregorya24 seems to post alot about them, but I could not find results for his car yet
