Default Cam sensor is broke from rubbing on crank! wtf

Does any one know why my cam sensor behind the intake was rubbing on my reluctor wheel on my crank? I took it out to tighten a new oil sending unit i broke while pulling the motor and found out that it was broken from the very bottom. My motor had some knock and i believe it was coming from that now that i see the damage fromt the sensor. What can cause this?

Tried search, but we all know how that POS is.

Thanks, Pheonix

lol how does the cam sensor work? Does it read off the cam or the crank reluctor wheel? Is it possible to brake it while changing cams, or replacing cam bearings?

I had my cam bearings replaced and i know that takes some yanking.

Its not possible for the reluctor to hit the cam sensor. It could have got damaged changing the bearings. The crank sensor picks up on the cam. A crank position sensor picks up on the reluctor wheel.

Ok, cool man. I looked closer at the sensor and the scar marks are from back to front. So that means it had to be from yanking on the bearings.

Thanks
