Default Valve Spring Life?

How long does a good valve spring last? A spring like patriot gold, dual valvespring. With the wear of a torquer v3 cam for a year and a bit of nitrous? How long before id need to replace um?

I had a set of (patriot) dual spring last about 45K miles (or 1.4 years) before two springs broke, this is a little too much to go without inspecting them. I would suggest inspecting them at 15K miles.

I have my PRC duals in for 60k miles so far. 45k with a 237/242 .603 lift cam and currently 15k miles on a 234/238 .598 lift cam and it still pulls like an animal up top. Eventually I'll get new springs, maybe in a month or two.

Im on 36k miles with patriot gold duals. My cam is mild and will not stress them. 224/228@114 I will replace them if one breaks

I recommend pulling a few intake and exhaust springs at the big lifts like this every 15K miles or so and checking their pressures. The bigger lifts will obviously wear on these springs more so than the lower lifts. It's just a good idea to check....consider it maintenance just like checking your air filter. it doesn't always need replaced when you pull it, but you pull it because it's important and check it anyway!

ive read on here a cam under 600 lift will not greatly stress the patriots, however if your running the higher lift cams its best to check them every 15-20k as mentioned

What damage could occur when a spring breaks?

You can drop a valve (or multiple), tearing up your cylinder heads, pistons, cylinder liners, and more. It gets nasty pretty quickly!
